Suffolk Streetwatch

Local People Making Local Communities Safer

About Streetwatch

Streetwatch is about local residents promoting good citizenship and supporting a better neighbourhood by patrolling their own streets. They provide visible reassurance and appropriately engage in local issues that matter most to your community. The scheme is fully supported by Suffolk Constabulary.

Streetwatch is a way of reclaiming back our streets and open spaces from those who may wish to engage in activities that undermine our communities..

Streetwatch:

  • Provides visible reassurance
  • Promotes good citizenship and community cohesion
  • Reduces low level anti-social behaviour
  • Reduces crime and disorder issues that impact most on our areas
  • Engages with the local youth to provide better relations and understanding
  • Reduces the fear of crime
  • Claims back the open spaces from those who wish to undermine our communities
  • Provides community information on the website
  • Provides a stronger community liaison with local police

This site and the service provided by our volunteers exists thanks to donations and the support of public services and business. Currently they are;
