Local People Making Local Communities Safer
Cornard Streetwatch was the first scheme to launch in Easter 2011, so it has been running now for over 3 years. When the Cornard Streetwatch scheme initially launched it was overseen at a National level, however it is now being relaunched at a local level by people who know their local communities and with support from Suffolk Constabulary.
By being part of the scheme members feel 'it is an enjoyable way of supporting your local community and helping the young and old alike'. They support local issues that matter to the local community and can often be seen walking around Cornard in their high-visibility jackets ensuring that any local issues are picked up and dealt with in a timely manner. As such they work very closely with the Police to help reduce activities that undermine the local area and they are also very pleased to stop and talk to anyone whenever they are out and about. If you see them please say 'hello!'.
